Alexandra Tiffin trained at the Royal Northern College of Music then the Royal Academy of Music, where she received a Distinction for her Postgraduate Diploma in Performance.
Operatic roles at RAM included Gertrude in Hamlet, Bradamante in Alcina, Olga in Eugene Onegin and Cornelia in Giulio Cesare.
Alexandra’s professional experience includes Alto solos in Handel's Messiah, Bach's Magnificat, Duruflé Requiem, Mozart's Requiem and DvoĆák's Stabat Mater.
Professional operatic roles include Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte; Rosina in Il Barbiere Di Siviglia; Third Lady in Die Zauberflote; Solo Wife in Bluebeard and Second Witch in Dido and Aeneas (Grange Park Opera) and the title role in Rossini’s Cinderella (TellTale Opera and Opera Up Close).
In 2009, Alexandra sang in the chorus of English National Opera's productions of Britten's Peter Grimes and Puccini's Turandot as well as covering the role of Orsini in Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia with Buxton Festival Opera.
2010 opera engagements include covering and performing the role of Mercédès in Opera Holland Park's 2010 production of Bizet's Carmen and the role of Sally in Buxton Festival Opera’s performance of The Hand of Bridge by Barber. She also sang chorus with Buxton Festival Opera in their productions of Mozart’s Idomeneo, Verdi’s Luisa Miller and Cornelius’ The Barber of Baghdad. In early 2011, Alexandra sang the role of Rosina in Opera Up Close's 2011 production of Rossini's Barber of Seville.
Alexandra recently sang chorus in English National Opera's 2011 productions of Verdi's Simon Boccanegra and Berlioz's Damnation of Faust. Later this year she will sing chorus in Opera North's production of Tchaikosky's The Queen of Spades and in 2012 she will cover the role of Queen Elizabeth in Opera South's production of Edward German's Merrie England.
