Ashley Bremner graduated from the Royal Academy of Music under the tuition of Joy Mammen. Since graduating, Ashley has toured extensively working with many opera companies in Britain and abroad.
Roles include; Donner in Das Rheingold and cover Gunther in Götterdämmerung (Scottish Opera); Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte (Swansea City Opera); Restaurant Waiter and Ship's Steward in Death in Venice (The Aldeburgh Festival); Sonora in La fancuilla del West and Moralès in Carmen (Wexford Opera); Football Hooligan in Playing Away (Bregenz Festival).
Ashley has performed with Carl Rosa Opera. Roles include; The Pirate King and Samuel in The Pirates of Penzance; Pish-Tush in The Mikado; Lieutenant in The Yeomen of the Guard.
In 2008 Ashley achieved excellent reviews for his performance of Figaro in Opera Armonico's production of Le nozze di Figaro. He sang solo on the 2008 recording of Edward German's Tom Jones (Naxos). In 2009 Ashley sang the role of Morales for the Raymond Gubbay production of Bizet’s Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall.
Ashley has regular solo concert work for Opera North and has performed many of the baritone solo roles from the oratorio repertory; notable performances include Handel's Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem, Elgar's Coronation Ode and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.
As baritone soloist he recently performed Handel's Messiah with the Havering Singers and in April 2010 will be singing Haydn's The Creation with The Darent Valley Choir.
