
Kathryn Hannah grew up in Kent and graduated with BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Newcastle University.
For Scottish Opera's 2010/2011 season, Kathryn covered a number of roles: Countess Ceprano and Paggio [performed] (Rigoletto), 2nd Donna Bridesmaid (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Resi (Intermezzo). Also in 2011, she covered the role of Carmen with Co-Opera.Co.
Kathryn has toured in the title role in Carmen with Lakeland Opera; Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) with New Devon Opera; Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Maddalena and Giovanna (Rigoletto) and Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor) for Pavilion Opera. Other roles include: Giannetta (L’Elisir D’Amore) and Laura (Luisa Miller) both with Opera Holland Park; Cherubino with Lyric Hammersmith; Second Boy with Kentish Opera; Second Lady with WEOS; Barbarina with Stanley Hall Opera and Kate Pinkerton and High Priestess with Sevenoaks Opera.
As part of an opera chorus she has performed with national and regional festival opera companies: L’Elisir D’Amore, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Lucia Di Lammermoor, Der Rosenkavalier, La Boheme, Le Nozze di Figaro (Scottish Opera); Peter Grimes (English National Opera); Carmen (Longborough Festival Opera); Fidelio, Tosca, L’Arlesiana and Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera Holland Park). She has recently performed as extra chorus for Opera North's new production of The Queen of Spades (Autumn 2011).
Kathryn has performed in numerous opera galas, concerts, and charity events both in the UK and abroad as well as doing regular church solo work. She has been the mezzo soloist for Mozart’s Requiem with Bahrain Sinfonia & Manama Singers in Bahrain. Other Oratorio performances include Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.
In 2012, Kathryn will be performing as Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) with Pavilion Opera and Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) with Kentish Opera.
