Mark Burns - Baritone
Having graduated from the RNCM Mark began his career by undertaking the role of Richie in Beached for Opera North as part of their two year Sing Up Bridlington project.
Mark has performed in two seasons for The Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company in their productions of The Mikado, Iolanthe, The Pirates of Penzance and Utopia Limited. Other Gilbert and Sullivan credits include John Wellington Wells in The Sorcerer, Pooh Bah in The Mikado, and Sergeant of Police in The Pirates of Penzance.
Whilst at the RNCM Mark performed the roles of Lilas Pastia in Carmen, The Male Cat in L’enfant et les Sortileges and Ajax 2 in La Belle Helene: he sang chorus in Die Fledermaus, Dido and Aeneas, La Clemenza di Tito, Katya Kabanova and Candide.
At the Buxton Festival Mark has performed the role of Mr Sem in Noye’s Fludde.
